The new insight about mechanism of the influence of K2CO3 on cellulose pyrolysis

Potassium salt is a nonnegligible inorganic element in biomass, and it has significant impact on the thermal behavior of biomass. To understand mechanism potassium cellulose pyrolysis depth, evolution functional groups char combined with characteristics volatiles from K2CO3 between 150 600 °C was investigated using two-dimensional perturbation correlation infrared spectroscopy (2D-PCIS). It found that addition changed decomposition pathway cellulose, reduce initial temperature 250 to °C. And accelerated deconstruction hydrogen bonding, rupture C5-O, C-C, glycosidic bond crystal structure form light molecular liner aliphatic compounds CO, CO2 at lower (150–250 °C). At higher (>250 °C), generation phenol C-O inhibited ether.
